History

RLS Associates was founded in March of 1986 by Rodney L. Sirois who was committed to finding a better solution for business owners who needed to find an optimized exit strategy to monetize the value they had built up in their businesses.  Over time, as the referral base of the business grew, additional services were added to the mix, particularly to also serve buyers who sought access to RLS’ proprietary deal flow and deal sourcing resources in addition to its expert advice for evaluating and structuring acquisitions.

The company’s current principal (David Bernstein) joined the company in December of 1988.  Effective on July 1, 1999, David and two partners (Anthony Piovoso and Richard Squadron) acquired RLS from its founder. Mr. Bernstein is now the sole principal of the firm and continues to build on the almost 40-year-long legacy of the company’s founder and team members.

Today, RLS has increased its geographic coverage, its average deal size and the size of its team but continues to provide the same level of premier services and advice to its clientele.
